PSI Tuning Begins Testing Boost Control for Honda ECUs

After months of development, PSI has begun testing a prototype boost control feature for their Honda OBD1 ECU offering. Although this system has just entered its testing phase, it shows a lot of promise.

The system uses a proprietary control routine and a boost control solenoid driven from some modified factory ECU circuitry we are able to achieve accurate boost levels without overshoot and many of the other problems associated with manual boost control or bleeder valves.

The boost control system allows the user to reliably set their boost levels by RPM and a number of other factors. This makes a boost curve to stay within the efficiency range of your setup a reality without spending $500-$600 on a dedicated electronic boost controller.

With the ECU in control we can also provide features such as limiting boost based on engine temperature. Since it knows the air temperature we can also adjust the boost parameters so you won't have problems with too much boost on cold nights and not enough during summer heat.

As always, these features will undergo rigorous testing before public release. This feature will become available as an upgrade to existing PSIChip customers by the end of 2005.
